WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first visit should set you at ease. We will have a discussion of your concerns, health complaints and goals. The acupuncture treatment should be calming and comfortable as needle placement is done with precision and skill.

The overall goal of acupuncture is to enable the body to eliminate ailments.

HOW IT WORKS

Its simple. Acupuncture primarily affects two things:

1.

It calms the nervous system.  The nervous system gets “revved up” from internal and external stressors — potentially aggravating and prolonging pain patterns.  Acupuncture interrupts pain messages being set to the brain and can reduce the perceived stress load on the system.

2.

It improves blood flow. Most injuries cause inflammation that impede circulation.  Local acupuncture points can restore the healthy flow of blood, bringing in nutrients and carrying out toxins.

Acupuncture is safe and compatible with other health care modalities.
